Inspired by: Restaurant Trends
They remind us of the possibilities that exist in pulling themes, colors, and ideas we like about these spots and incorporating them into our own homes and interiors. So grab an abstractly geometric, pastel ceramic cup (hopefully filled with something laced in turmeric) and dig in…

THE PALETTE:
Fleshy pink, honey, posh aqua, and so much green.
ABOVE: OMAR'S PLACE / LALITO / OMAR'S PLACE / DE MARIA
THE MENU:
Fresh, “healthy-ish,” and vibrant — vegetable-forward but not vegetarian. Inventive and seasonal. Adaptogenic tonics, crudite appetizers, and vegetal cocktails are also a must.
ABOVE: HONEY HI, SQIRL
DETAILS:
80s-inspired details aplenty, with colorful tile work and nods to Memphis-esque geometry in elementary shapes, curves, and moments of elevated kitch.
ABOVE: JUNE'S ALL DAY
PLANT LIFE:
Go big. We first noticed the striking Umbrella Tree at New York’s De Maria and started observing similar themes in the types of plants brought into spaces. Gone are the days of windows packed with houseplants and interiors transformed to greenhouses; the new word is fewer but more statement-making moments of nature, adding dimension and visual balance to rooms.

COLLATERAL:
There will be collateral, and there will be a LOT: get ready to steal a lot of matchbooks and pens.
The takeaway is playfulness, and the use of branding and dynamic graphics to impart personality, color, and fun.

Packs a Punch
A recent favorite in the category of simple pieces that elevate the everyday:
Ferm Living's Ripple Champagne Saucers.
Convinced these are THE glass for summer: delicate but substantial, they feel like the perfect pairing of classic and modern, elevating a simple cocktail or glass of wine into an "occasion" (above, aperitivo hour with a Campari spritz...clearly we're not getting over our Italy trip anytime soon).Alternatively, they also make an ice cream sundae look pretty impressive... Cheers!
Postcards from Milan
NANNIE INEZ TRAVELS
Earlier this month we made the pilgrimage to Milan for their annual Design Week. Design Week is paradise for lovers of international design — both a chance to see all the new pieces from our favorite lines as well as an opportunity to soak in the insane architecture and sights of the city ... visual overload!
Above, Bosco Verticale in the Isola neighborhood — we posted a photo of this as "inspiration" on our Instagram nearly two years ago ... and it greeting us literally the moment we stepped off the train in Milan felt like a good omen for the rest of the trip + inspiration to come.
Clockwise from top left:
1. The view from our flat in the Isola neighborhood, right next to the Bosco towers.
2. Shapes and textures: from an installation of Australian designers on Via Tortona.
3. If you follow #Ihavethisthingwithfloors... M
4. A beautiful sun-drenched moment at Palazzo Clerici (plus the new Tulou side tables by Hay!)
Clockwise from top left:
5. Dreamy newness from Hay, this amazing chair will be at Nannie Inez soon! You saw it here first :)
6. Simple and pretty spring florals at Hay.
7. Palatial vibes at Hay — some installations went above and beyond and this is a perfect example.
8. Muuto: masters of the color story. Our love of deep green just keeps growing...
Clockwise from top left:
9. Light streaming in amid a daily coffee pit stop in Isola at Cafe Gorille.
10. More colors at Muuto (making me think that the next iteration of "Millennial pink" in the a more earthy/fleshy toned palette).
11. The 1965 Pendant by Paavo Tynell at Gubi. Of course installing these pendants from the ceiling in this historic building was not an option…I loved how they found a thoughtful way to display pendant lighting.
12. Silky soft, gorgeous colors: rugs from CC Tapis at Salone de Mobile. Incredible.
Just In: Dream Sofa
We're head over heels for a new piece that just landed at Nannie Inez: Muuto's insanely cool Connect Sofa, a sleek, markedly Scandinavian modular unit able to be configured in 11 different variations. We love the versatility it allows for, working just as well in tiny apartments, rooms with atypical layouts, or big spaces where you're looking for a statement-making modular couch.
Designed by leading Norwegian designers Anderssen & Voll, it's available in a range of textiles and custom colors, some of which are kept in stock and are ready to ship immediately.
We're excited to experiment with all the ways it can be arranged, disassembled and put back together. It's basically our version of grown-up Legos! (See below for some different configurations & the dreamy prints from the image above).
Spring Forward
Ushering in our favorite season in Austin with objects, ideas, and experiences that embrace color and reference the tones, textures, and vividity of the outdoors.
PS: Our interiors are freshly repainted! Stop by to say hello and see what's new.
NEW ARRIVALS
CITIES OF BASKETBALL
New from Paper Collective, "Cities of Basketball" is a photo series by Danish artist Kasper Nyman, who started documenting basketball courts around the world in an ongoing project. Nyman is an aesthete anthropologist, writing that he works from a curiosity of the global language of basketball, that "these courts have a deep-rooted history, [revealing] not only an aesthetic image, but represent[ing] a larger culture and platform being used on a daily basis."
TRENDSPOTTING
CUT GRASSES
We're calling the next "trending" plant ... it started last fall when we suddenly started noticing cut pampas grasses showing up everywhere: bundled up and in vases in showrooms, on Instagram, in interiors magazines and blogs. It's funny how just like any other medium, houseplants slide in and out of popularity (ie: Monstera leaves, fiddle leaf fig trees, tall cacti, eucalyptus branches...)
As for pampas grass, technically it's categorized as an “invasive” (aka: a weed!) but we’re really liking the way the feathery texture and exaggerated proportion looks when styled inside or left to dry. You can find them bundled and sold at specialty flower shops (or just keep your eyes open on your next road trip to clip a few on the journey home).
Above, a few favorite vessels for displaying a similar arrangement.
A New Hue - Copenhagen Green
COLOR TREND NO. 1: A New Hue
Have you noticed the lovely shades of rich green floating around out there in the design world lately? It's interesting the way these things happen. We didn't set out with the intention to source green design goods but suddenly we realized...hey look...there's a green thing happening and here are a few of our favorites.
